We talked mainly about ways of making sure that locally people know COP26 failed us all, discussing a banner drop and deciding to engage people on Berko High Street at 2:00 on Thursday 9th December, asking WHAT CAN WE DO?
Sue was one of four Christian Climate Action Rebels arrested for disrupting the Lord Mayor’s Show as part of XR’s intervention on Saturday 13th, to highlight the failure of COP and the ecocidal financing of the fossil fuel industry by the City of London. Sue wrote the lyrics to a hymn tune which were sung on the road and from within the crowd: And still on the altar of our greed/the children’s lives are laid/The young cannot be sacrificed/by change always delayed/It’s time for love to rule! Divest from fossil fuel/But still on the altar of our greed/the children’s lives are laid.
