Bank action
Earlier that day some of us had done another oily protest outside a branch of Barclays, this time on Watford High Street. It was covered by the Watford Observer. The content of our talk included quotes from Monday’s IPCC Report. We chose lunchtime so that there would be more of an audience, which there was, with some heckling at the start from someone who denies that there are any experts in the world. Herts Police did not turn up after making contact but we had support from Watford Quakers which was much appreciated. Next up, the Harpenden branch next Tuesday lunchtime.
CEE Bill petition to Gagan Mohindra
We agreed to make a final online push for more signatures and then send it to Gagan. We’re not sure how so if anyone can help, please get in touch. John is seeing him next week.
Rebellion from 23rd August
We are hoping the recent horrifying headlines from the IPCC Report, along with the fires in Greece, Turkey, Algeria and Siberia, and record temperatures – 49 degrees in Canada! – and floods, will regenerate Rebels who have taken a break and inspire new protesters to come to London from 10:00 on 23rd, Trafalgar Square. If that’s you, contact us if you’d like to meet up.
Sue’s charges for the Rebellion of One have been dropped so we celebrated.
Next meeting
Our final pre-Rebellion meeting will be on Tuesday 17th August at 6:30. Link to follow.
