Notes from our meeting on 19th May 2021

On the agenda were various national and local actions.

CEE Bill

MD will hope to collect more signatures for the CEE Bill on Friday 21st in Dolphin Square with Tring Rebels.

J will invite Chesham XR and M will invite Tring to join us on 13th June on the bridge 11-3 with banner and petition.

Wildflower meadow – No Mow Dacorum

G has notified supporters of the project in Fields End that in a few weeks, after the surrounding grass is cut again, he will get some photos for a press release.

Banks

Barclays in Berko is closing in June. We discussed future plans. There is an online rally about HSBC on 21st May 6:30 leading up to the AGM on 28th May.

Paint the Streets – Free the Press

We discussed Trial 1. There is a national Zoom about action on June 27th on Sunday 30th at 7. See Telegram Free the Press chat. We have better posters (50 remaining) for decorating empty shop windows, bust stops etc. Discussed stickers.

Plastics Parade in Tring on 17th July

Time TBC. We plan to support Tring XR with a view to repeating in Berko in September.

St Albans Sustainability Festival

This will be held 23rdMay – 6th June in the market place. Yvonne has a stall about the CEE Bill.

This Saturday, 22nd May, STOP SHELL at the Science Museum

We talked about the XR Scientists action at the exhibition. There is a protest organised by UKSCN (UK Student Climate Network) at 2:00 on Saturday which some of us will attend.

Sue’s RO1 plea hearing at St Albans is at 2:00 on Friday 28th May. She intends to plead not guilty. We discussed recent acquittals and a possible shift within the legal system.
