XR Dacorum

Extinction Rebellion

Notes from our meeting on 28th April 2021

Image: the Shell 6 acquitted by a jury of criminal damage in spite of the judge’s steer that there was no defence in law.

CEE Bill

The petition to Gagan now has 231 signatures. K, B and M collected a few in Tring last Sunday (Dolphin Square) and will return another time.

On 6th May we will reprise on Berkhamsted high street minus the installation, same location, 3:30 – 5:30. We’ll need more copies of the petition sheet from K. K to ask RM. MD to ask Tring if we can borrow their excellent pink banner. We will then visit Hemel.

Nationally 1000+ candidates are now backing the bill.

No Mow Dacorum

As agreed with Rob Cassidy, the wildflower meadow project in Hemel has begun. G will wait for around a month before organising a photo there for the local paper with the residents who supported the idea.

Sue reported that Sam North, the Lib Dem candidate for Police and Crime Commissioner on 6th replied to her with a strong defence of freedom to protest, assuring her that whatever laws are passed, under his watch Herts would respect protestors’ rights.

Banks – most stickers in Berko remain in place????

RO1 is on Saturday.
