CEE bill banner drop makes local and national news

On Friday 26th March, rebels took part in the national banner drop organised by Dacorum Climate Network for the CEE Bill Alliance. We hung a 9.3m banner over the A41 bridge at Tring Park but didn’t leave it there for safety reasons, moving it instead to the Moor. We then relocated it again to the railings opposite Berkhamsted station. Another banner was dropped against the green wall at the multi-storey car park in Berko and taken briefly to the Marlowes in Hemel. A third decorates the Gravel Path bridge. We have also placed placards with the QR code for the national site and our local petition to Gagan Mohindra. There was an excellent banner on Tring high street too.

Many hundreds of banners were dropped around the country and the #CEEbill trended at number one in Politics on Twitter.

Hemel Today covered the action online that evening. Local film-maker Barney also made a film of the Gravel Path banner from the towpath.

Our next meeting is on Wednesday 31st March:
