Delivering flyers about the #CEEbill
G and K to get quotes for 5000 copies. We have 7 volunteers to deliver them and need more so contact us if you will help. Sue to ask John about the 38 degrees petition and QR code.
Sunday morning online action: Ideally between 10 and 12am, post a photo of you holding up a sign along the lines of I’M ASKING MY MP TO SUPPORT THE CLIMATE AND ECOLOGICAL EMERGENCY BILL #CEEbill. Post on Twitter (tagging Mohindra/Penning) Facebook, Instagram, whatever…
Chalking: Chalks available from BAC if you order by phone (10-3) and collect at the door on Lower Kings Rd. The idea is to back up the CEE bill message as many ways as possible before March 26th.
Kathryn attended a meeting about the bill and shared other suggestions: letters to the press, County Council, W.I. and other groups. Labour members to ask Starmer to back it. Thank MPs who have signed up and ask them to promote it. Try to meet your MP online. Banner drops etc in March. If you have ideas please contact us.
Rebellion of One: We have two volunteers so far to do this on March 27th (postponed like the bill from 13th) and a couple of people have offered to support them. Interested? Contact us.
N.B. XR is one of many groups behind the CEE bill proposed by Caroline Lucas but we don’t claim it as ours; we just back it.
Posters: XR Tring have kindly shared #WINDSOFCHANGE posters, which now have XR Dacorum on them. Some are already on noticeboards in Berko. More to be glued (flour paste) to windows of shops that have closed etc. If you see one, please photograph it and share on social media.
Eco businesses: Sue to work on a flyer with Sally from Tring when she has finished Tring’s.
Dacorum Development Plan: We have invited a supportive DBC councillor to talk about this. No response yet. Do send in a written submission with recommendations/complete the consultation form online before 5th Feb. See Maria’s demands in the notes from last week’s meeting.
No-Mow Dacorum: Graham is persisting re an area in Hemel. Rob Cassidy, Parks and Open Spaces Director, wants to survey the locals as the next of many steps. We agreed to cooperate with this in spite of this being a CLIMATE AND ECOLOGICAL EMERGENCY whether people like biodiversity or not!
Graham also suggested a new title/subtitle for Heading for Extinction, highlighting the media lies and silence. Sue to put to Bex and push for a talk soon.
